Glory Be!

For some reason, I enjoy sunrise more than sunset. Must be something about the excitement of a new day ahead. I don't have a lot of sunset photos, but this was a glorious sunset on Ocracoke.

Raptured

This particular morning, I went out to the beach before sunrise. If you have done this often, you know the show starts about an hour before the sun actually rises. By the time the sun moves above the horizon, the show is over.... except for this morning. As I was crossing the dunes returning to the car, I looked over my shoulder and the scene was truly magical!

Oats for Breakfast

My family loves Ocracoke and we have spent many weeks there over the years. The island is remote and only accessible by ferry. To me, the air smells of salt, yaupon, and raw oysters. This was taken at sunrise in October.
